The Questions That Shape Us

A crisis of faith can strike at both broad and deeply personal levels. It emerges when we desperately need things to change, but life remains stubbornly the same—day after day. It’s in the moments we start asking “why” and wondering where God is—or even if God is.

For those who claim a faith, trust is often placed in an all-powerful Creator. Most belief systems anchor on this foundation of divine power. But when prayers seem unanswered, faith can feel like standing in a queue that never moves, as though we’re being pushed further back despite years of faithful waiting.

“When?” becomes the single question echoing in our hearts. At some point, the “why” fades in importance as we ache for resolution. In moments of frustration or despair, we might even demand God to show up in a tangible way.

These breaking points are not evidence of a lack of faith—they are a part of faith. True power is not diminished by questions. On the contrary, asking them is a profound and necessary part of spiritual growth.

I won’t be the one to toss Bible verses at you or tell you I’m praying for you because I don't know what else to say. Those are nice and all, but they don’t really touch the raw places in your heart. I also won’t give you some cliché quote about how “God won’t give you more than you can handle" or, "everything happens for a reason".

What I will do is sit with you in the questions and the pleading for answers. I’ll be here to remind you of what you’re made of. I won’t let you go it alone.

Therapy can be a safe space to wrestle with these questions. If you’ve tried before and it wasn’t safe or helpful, I truly understand how discouraging that can feel. But I want to encourage you to try again.

No matter your faith—or if you’re uncertain what you believe—it’s welcome here. We can unpack it together, free of judgment and without needing a polished, picture-perfect version of your spirituality.

You don’t have to carry these questions alone.

With Love,

Eva
